Lefkada Island
Walking Trails Lefkada
Sivota on the south side of Lefkada Island is our year-round home and base for our walking holidays in the Greek Islands.
Lefkada Island is located between Corfu Island and Kefalonia Island and is surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea.
The island has a dramatic landscape with vertical rocky cliffs, mountainous areas with valleys and gorges leading to some beautiful,
traditional and friendly Greek villages.
There are many walking trails on Lefkada Island including coastal routes, waterfalls, springs and ancient ruins, with many passing through
olive groves and untouched nature.
Meganisi Island
Walking Trails Meganisi
Meganisi is an island of natural beauty with lush green vegetation and many bays and lies to the east of Lefkada, seperated
by the Meganisi channel and Skorpios Island, and is one of the most picturesque islands in the Ionian Sea.
There are three main villages on the island of Meganisi. Vathy which is the main port of Meganisi, home to local fishing boats
and yachts. Spatochori, which is located on a cliff overlooking the sea where you have some great views of Skorpios Island and beyond.
Katomeri village is on the hillside above little Vathy and has a maze of narrow streets, with vibrant colourful flowers decorating
the traditional stone houses and is home to many of the locals on the island.
There are many great walking trails on Meganisi, the highlights are the traditional villages, olive groves, coastal paths
and sea caves. The most famous sea cave is Papanikoli cave which was used as a hiding place for submarines during World War two.
Kalamos Island
Walking Trails Kalamos
Kalamos is a small, mountainous and beautifully unspoiled island in the Ionian Sea,
known for its dramatic coastline, lucious vegetation and tall vertical pine trees which
grow right up to the coastline, with beaches of smooth white pebbles leading into the
crystal-clear blue sea where Dolphin are often spotted.
The main harbour, Kalamos Town, is a welcoming port lined with waterfront tavernas,
small cafés and family-run shops. The harbour is sheltered and scenic, with fishing
boats, local cats wandering the quay and a gentle, traditional atmosphere.
Kalamos is less developed than nearby islands and offers excellent walking trails,
short trails through untouched natural landscapes before relaxing and enjoying the harbour
lights reflecting off the water, creating a beautiful, peaceful setting for the night.
Kastos Island
Walking Trails Kastos
Kastos is one of the smallest and most peaceful islands in the Ionian Sea, offering a
truly authentic and unspoiled Greek experience. With fewer than 200 residents, quiet
stone-built villages and pristine turquoise bays, Kastos is a favourite stop for
guests seeking relaxation, natural beauty and slow island living.
Kastos is an island where time seems to slow down. Its natural beauty, peaceful
atmosphere and postcard-perfect anchorages make it a magical and memorable stop
on our catamaran based walking holidays in the Ionian Islands.
Ithaca Island
Walking Trails Ithaca
Ithaca lies to the east of Kefalonia and is one of the smaller islands of the Ionian Sea.
Known for its green mountains, quiet bays and charming villages, Ithaca offers a perfect
combination of natural beauty and Greek mythology.
Ithaca is one of the most captivating islands in the Ionian Sea. It is a wonderful
destination during a catamaran-based walking holiday, with stunning anchorages,

Kefalonia Island
Walking Trails Kefalonia
Kefalonia is one of the more well-known islands of the Ionian islands. It is one of the larger islands and has many beautiful places to visit.
The hills are covered with cypresses and olive trees and the coastline is met by the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea.
There are some ancient sites to see, including the Venetian lighthouse and Roman cemetery in Fiscardo and the inland caves of Drogarati and
Melissani, near Sami. Fiscardo has amazing examples of untouched traditional Ionian architecture, as it was one of the only villages that
survived the 1953 earthquake.
Other surrounding Island
Other Ionian Islands in the area.
There are many other islands in the area including Skorpios, Atokos, Arkoudi, Thilia, Kythros, Formikoula and more, they don't all
have walking trails but they are worth a stop to swim and enjoy.
Skorpios Island is the most famous private island and was once owned by Greek shipping billionaire, Aristotle Onassis
who married Jacqueline Kennedy on the island.
Atokos Island is small and uninhabited and is known as 'the secret island'. The island is privately
owned but we can stop for a swim at the beautiful beaches where you may see a few wild goats and the family of black pigs.
